Discussions with kiberfeminists

Since the 20th of November (until the 20th of December 2000) we are engaged in online-conversations and -discussions with Russian (Cyber-)Feminists. Our main interest is the question of the undistinguishable difference between "real" and "virtual" space. In other words, we will be asking:

What is the relationship of cyberfeminism to women in Russia?

With this question we refer to Teresa de Lauretis and her distinction between "the Woman" and "women". In this sense it is our aim to examine cyberfeministic strategies with regard to feminist agency. This is connected with our own search for our own agency...
With the on-line project we hope to 'translate knowledge' between different communities, which are differentiated by power (Donna Haraway). By this we also mean the demystification of "Cyberspace" and the questioning of the boundaries between "real" and "virtual" spaces.

  Participants in the discussion are:
Irina Aktuganova
Irina Aristarkhova
Larissa Lissjutkina
Valentina Konstantinova

We are discussing in Russian, and are trying to translate that into English as quickly as possible.
We highly appreciate Your comments at our kitchen table.
