yes, we know that our time flows differently. but not only because we are germans, but also because this is our project, because we feel responsible for it to work out and that everybody is satisfied...
but i also know this feeling that i want things to grow - although i often realize that it could have been better doing things spontaneously.

so now here i am, with the reply of you, irina and irina - or should i say alla? -, and have the feeling that i have been waiting too long to answer...

but let's just start, maybe about the time...
your remarks about time lead me to different thoughts. i think my behaviour and my expectations just have changed within the last two years.
although i already got in touch with computers in the early eighties, when in western germany they began to be sold as a mass product (my father always has been quick buying these things). but nevertheless i have not been in daily touch too much, until for the last two or so years. most of my friends even now do not use computers too often, or don't own one. i am still an exception, both having one and being connected from home - and this in the rich and mighty country of germany, can you imagine ...
actually, when i last have been in russia (1995, so long ago...), i was very astonished that most feminist and women's ngos and groups had email-addresses and homepages - at a time when one could hardly find this in germany. and that was one of the main reasons why i started using email - to communicate with russian feminist groups.
what i want to say is that i don't think your approach is so specificrussian as it is maybe female or maybe intellectual. thinking still takes some time, and thats good...
concerning bio/technologies.
how do they influence your life, the lifes of russian women? how does it differ for you, irina, in singapure, or for you, larissa, in western germany?here we have so strange hybrid ways to live, it's hard to figure out.
how do i live?
i am addicted to my computer - checking emails every few hours, ... - but i don't have a tv-set or a car, mytoilet is outdoors, and i heat with coals. so i am either expecting the coal-delivery or books by amazone.de ...
is this some strange leftover niche in eastern berlin? or is this common in most parts of the world, this strange mixture of "traditional" or poverty elements and latest hightech?
i also have to think of the "stubnitz" (which is so important for your history, irina and alla), this wonderful huge old ship, almost too rotten for going anywhere anymore - they have all the technologies one can think about: computers, sound-equipment, film/video-equipment..., but whenever i am there, i feel like i am in another generation, eating selfmade bread by the ship's old cook.

i always have the impression that i am living in niches, that my life differs a lot from other women in germany.
that's why we ask the question about the representation of women in cyberspace. about who can we say what? what does it mean? don't we always - and especially in the cyberspace - talk from niche to niche?

what about the cloning you mentioned? how much does it differ from giving birth the "natural" way? in germany a lot of people are very sceptical towards cloning of people. i think this is a good attitude for germans - with our history of a "better arian race", germans should be careful about these things. as i saw on the clone.ru page, the majority of the visitors of the page think positively about cloning. but are they women? how does cloning influence their lives? is there a connection to the notion of cybermotherism of the cyberfeminclub?

well, cybermotherism is another new theme...
